FOOD FORWARD 2024
In today's fast-evolving world, food systems face immense challenges due to pressing global issues. Join us September 29th at the Capital Hotel St. John’s for the 4th edition of the most important food security event in Atlantic Canada.
What is FOOD FORWARD 2024?
NL Eats has been instrumental in uniting change-makers and stakeholders since 2020 through our flagship conference, "Food Insecurity in a Changing World," launched at the onset of the pandemic.
This year, we invite you to Food Forward 2024 with the aim of creating conversations and experiences that will inspire change.
FOOD Forward 2024 is proudly supported by Lawrence MacAulay,
Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food in Canada
The Hackathon is also a key highlight of the Food Forward 2024 event, adding an exciting opportunity for innovation and collaboration.

"Food is being wasted and yet - everyday people are going hungry. We're trying to bridge the gap - while providing food is a temporary bandaid there are more deeply rooted policy changes that need to happen."
"Once the full extent of our 2020 and 2021 data is brought into context I anticipate that we'll see some severe challenges. I expect we'll see more people move into a state of food insecurity for the first time and those already experiencing it will face more intense levels of it."
"There is a need to extend community support to our local entrepreneurs whichever step of their journey they're in and regardless of where they're located in our province. We're here to help how and when we can."
We can leverage the creation of food to help people from a food security perspective. There's many intersecting benefits to this meaningful work, as it has the opportunity to instill life skills and employability skills in a positive, affirming environment
